Pre-order “The Monster-Building Handbook”
for the fearless storyteller in your life!

Cosmic Writers is now offering the opportunity to participate in a Cosmic-Writers-style creative writing experience anytime and anywhere. With the guidance of monster-builder Angelica Fearborne and monster companion Hubble, writers will build an original monster that can face off against the greatest monster-hunter of our generation: Angelica’s twin brother, Mortimer. The task will take grit, courage, and creativity… but we think you’re up to it. Will you join us in the lab?

July 8th–19th, 3:30–7:30pm ET via Zoom

We’re back for the FIFTH summer of Word Camp, our virtual creative writing camp for rising 3rd–8th graders! With workshops ranging from playwriting to detective fiction, there’s something for every young writer. Participants can sign up for as many or as few workshops as they’d like, and have the option to attend instructors’ office hours from 6:30–7:30pm each day of the workshop.

  • Virtual Summer Institute for Young Writers

July 8th–19th, asynchronous & synchronous via Discord

The Summer Institute is an intensive two-week writing workshop for high school students. Writers of all genres — nonfiction, fiction, poetry, drama, and beyond — are welcome to join us as we break down the writing process from initial inspiration to phrase-by-phrase revisions. We welcome new and experienced writers alike!

Every child deserves high-quality
creative writing education.

That’s the idea driving Cosmic Writers. We’re a registered 501(c)(3) that provides accessible creative writing programs ranging from afterschool workshops to summer camps. While having fun and building friendships, our young writers develop strong communication skills, strengthen their creative thinking abilities, and become intrinsically motivated to write.

  • Ember died of mysterious circumstances. She had been found with a broken leg. She was laying on the side of the street like roadkill. The doctors assume she was hit by a car. But now that I'm in the Other Side, Ember has told me the real reason why she died. Which leads me to more unrevealed secrets.

    — Sophie, 9th grade, “The Art and Science of Fictional Worlds: Sci-Fi and Fantasy for High Schoolers”
